We recommend that all applicants take advantage of the opportunity for a portfolio guidance in good time before the portfolio must be submitted. It is possible to apply without participating in a portfolio guidance. In the consultation appointments with professors of photography, you will learn how you can optimise your portfolio and which mistakes must be avoided. Due to covid-19, the portfolio guidance will take place digitally until further notice. The consultation will answer general questions concerning the study programme and the folder itself. The professors will view your projects and provide you with advice. Please prepare yourself and your portfolio for the portfolio guidance as follows:

  • Please ensure that you can find your pictures quickly during the consultation.
  • If you would like to show various projects, please keep the pictures in different files.
  • The maximum number of pictures may not exceed 50.
  • File type: jpg
  • The longest page should be approx. 1800 px
  • The size should be no greater than 800 KB per picture.

Please register for your portfolio guidance via email at mappenberatung@fotostudierende.com and name the appointment or lecturer you would like. You will subsequently receive more information.
